Samurai dinner show (Samurai Café Show)

Osaka · Central Osaka · Gastronomy, Tradition

A live samurai show in Osaka with combat and traditional martial arts, with food and drink available; from around 3.000 ¥.

The Samurai Café Show is an entertaining way to get close to Japan's warrior culture through a live show in the centre of Osaka. On stage, performers dressed as samurai give demonstrations of combat, katana handling and traditional martial arts in a dynamic and showy staging, designed for an international audience and with a very photogenic show component. Admission starts at around 3.000 ¥ and includes access to the show, with Japanese food and drink available during the performance for anyone who wants to turn it into a themed dinner. At the end, there is usually a chance to take photos with the performers and, in some cases, to try wielding a sword. It is a different plan for a night in Osaka, ideal to combine with a stroll through the neon of Dotonbori and Namba, which are nearby. It is advisable to book the slot in advance because the performances have set times and limited capacity. Check the exact time of the show when booking, as it varies by day.
